Position Summary

A Vacancy exists in the Geriatric and Ambulatory Care Medicine unit for a highly motivated and experienced Advanced Trainee with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centered care. The successful applicant will be expected to be able to operate independently in the community and ambulatory setting.  There will also be inpatient management as part of this role.

 

This position is fixed term full time/part time and there will also be weekend ward rounds are per roster.  Job share or part-time will be considered.

Selection Criteria Essential: Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries
Essential: MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Essential: At least 4 years full time hospital experience and passing of the FRACP Written and Clinical Examinations as well as completion of all Basic Training PREP requirements, prior to commencement of the position.
Essential: Demonstrated clinical competency and commitment to training in Geriatric Medicine
Essential: Ability and preparedness to work independently in the community, a demonstrated ability to understand and address the needs of older people and their carers, and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team including providing leadership within that team.
Essential: Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
Essential: Current NSW Drivers Licence
Essential: Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team.
